Overwatch 2 Brigitte Guide: Abilities, Tips, How To Unlock
Brigitte is not the best support hero, but she feels like a decent hybrid of a tank and a healer, offering a unique character to Overwatch 2 players. Here's an explanation of all of her abilities and the best tips to take in while using her on the battlefield.

Click to enlargeBrigitte from the outlook seems to be a mini Reinhardt. She has a small shield that takes in about 250 damage but this Overwatch 2 character can also heal and in some cases buff her allies. Here's every ability you need to know to get good with Brigitte.
Rocket Flail
- Type: Primary Weapon
- Effect: This flail works similarly to Reinhardt's hammer swings. They cause a decent amount of damage and can finish off belligerent foes who stand in Brigitte's way.
Rally
- Type: Ultimate
- Effect: This is a tool to help your squad get an advantage. Everyone will move faster and gain extra health from this AoE (Area of Effect) ability.
Repair Pack
- Type: Ability
- Effect: For a short period of time, this will heal an ally a certain amount. This can be stacked three times, but they have to be recharged, making Brigitte one of the weaker healers when compared to Mercy and Ana.
Whip Shot
- Type: Ability
- Effect: The flail is launched forward and when you hit an enemy, they'll be knocked back. It's a great pressuring tool and can be used to knock back an opponent into an ultimate like Orisa's Terra Surge.
Barrier Shield
- Type: Ability
- Effect: Like Reinhardt, she can whip up a shield with the right mouse button. It only covers Brigitte's width, however, so it's not as effective as her godfather's.
Shield Bash
- Type: Ability
- Effect: She can stun and knock back an opponent with her shield. She also gains some forward momentum with the attack, letting you get back to the fight sooner.
Inspire
- Type: Passive
- Effect: Whenever Brigitte causes damage to a foe, nearby allies will be healed.
As you can tell from Brigitte's abilities, she's probably the most offensive support hero in Overwatch 2.

Overwatch 2 Brigitte Guide: Early Tips
Click to enlargeBrigitte is a different type of healer than the likes of Mercy and Ana. When she sends out a repair pack, the healing isn't immediate; it takes a little bit of time to gather up. For example, if Genji is super low in HP, the repair pack won't save him as fast as Mercy's staff. You should keep this in mind when battling as Brigitte in Overwatch 2. She should be a secondary support hero, not the main healer.
What she does bring to the table is an immense amount of aggressive potential. With her shield, she can protect herself from short-term attacks like D.Va's Self Destruct attack. She can also use her shield to bash opponents and interrupt them. For example, the bash would be helpful against Genji's ultimate, which is timed. That slight stun might be the difference between winning and losing in that situation.
In addition to the shield, another way to confuse the opponent is the Whip Shot. It has a long distance, so you can push back an opponent from close range or from far away. The opponent will be knocked back, and it may shuffle them off their groove if they have a kill streak going. The Whip Shot is also a great tool for finishing off low-HP enemies that are trying to run away. Sorry, Tracer.
If you have the full squad behind you, using the rocket flail by itself is a good way to heal others on your team. With every strike against your enemy, your buddies will gain HP. If this is buffed by Kiriko's ultimate, healing will be even faster among your allies.

How To Unlock Brigitte
Click to enlargeBrigitte is a healer that is unlocked later on in the process for free-to-play owners of Overwatch 2. You'll unlock this Swedish hero by playing around 100 matches in the game. If you've played the original Overwatch, use the same account in Overwatch 2, and you'll unlock her instantly. In addition, you can purchase the Watchpoint Pack, which gives you all 35 original characters from the first game, 2,000 Overwatch Coins, and the Season 1 Battle Pass (which includes an instant unlock for Kiriko).
