How to counter every hero in Overwatch 2 Season 10

With every new season, Overwatch 2 introduces new buffs, nerfs, and even the occasional new hero into its roster, with even more changes introduced in the latest Season 10 update. So, we're here to break down all the best heroes to counter one another.

With a wide assortment of heroes spread across Damage, Tank, and Support classes in the game, learning how to counter each hero can be a time-consuming task - thankfully, this guide is here to make things a little easier.

How to counter all heroes

With a roster the size of Overwatch 2's you're bound to find several heroes that will counter your mains. So you must play a wide array of heroes for you to be able to switch to complement your party and defeat your opponents.

Damage Hero Counters

Below is the full Overwatch 2 counter list for taking on the game's various Damage category heroes. The damage heroes will be dealing the most damage, and with various abilities, you'll need to find the right hero that can bolster your defence.

Every hero has their way of countering and can often synergise with others. While Sombra can hack and disable abilities, Torbjorn's turret can target faster heroes or those who rely on flying.

Tank Hero Counters

Below is the full Overwatch 2 counter list for taking on the game's various Tank category heroes. Tanks are highly defensive and can absorb a lot of damage. So, you'll need to find heroes that can deal with serious numbers, or work tactically to throw them off.

If you're looking to get to a point quickly and be difficult to hit, then Wrecking Ball may be the best selection. However, if you prefer a more defensive strategy, Reinhardt's shield is one of the best defences.

Support Hero Counters

Below is the full Overwatch 2 counter list for taking on the game's various Support category heroes. Supports will be busy healing their allies, so finding heroes that can hinder their healing abilities is essential if you're going to put pressure on and counter them.

Ana is a great hero to use against other healers or even tanks like Roadhog, due to her grenade that blocks healing. Alongside the new passive-healing mechanic added to all heroes, Ana has never been stronger. Similarly, Lucio can boop even the largest enemies off the map, or disrupt a heavy attack formation.

How many heroes are there in Overwatch 2?

There are currently 40 unique heroes, each with their own counters. Season 10 saw the addition of a new Damage character called Venture, but we won't be seeing another until Season 12, where a Support character codenamed Space Ranger is set to launch.

As you can see above, the Damage class has the most amount of heroes by far, meaning they will likely have the most counter-heroes to go against them.
