If you're reading this, then you're probably wondering, how does Overwatch 2 Push mode work? Overwatch 2 has seen a few major changes, such as character overhauls, new maps, UI alterations, and a new Push game mode, which features two teams fighting to escort a robot to their enemies' spawn. It has a different pace to the game standard modes featured in Overwatch and the sequel, making for a new way to experience the gameplay. So if you want to learn all there is to know about the Overwatch 2 Push mode, read on.

The Overwatch 2 Push mode asks the two teams to try and compete in escorting a robot called TS-1 to the opposite side of the map. Both teams will spawn on each side of the map, while TS-1 spawns in the direct centre, and 30 seconds after the game begins, they will unlock, allowing both teams to begin fighting for control.

After a team kills all the opposing players and gets control of TS-1, it will begin to slowly move toward the opposing team's spawn. The goal is to get TS-1 as far possible (measured in metres) before the time limit ends, or get them to the enemy spawn, which will instantly end the game.

Between both spawns and the centre of the map, there is also a checkpoint which is unlocked once TS-1 crosses it, allowing the team with control to spawn closer to them and get into the fight quicker. They can also lose this spawn point if the enemy team takes control of TS-1 instead, and pushes them past the centre of the map.

Push is currently played on Colosseo and New Queen Street Overwatch 2 maps, which take place in Rome and Toronto respectively. If the mode performs well and is received well by the community, it's likely that Blizzard will continue to expand it with more maps in the future.

A mistake players might make in this mode, is grouping up around TS-1 too much, and while there should always be a player or two stuck to them so it will consistently move forward, the other players should make use of the map's space. Both Colosseo and New Queen Street have a lot of side areas to take advantage of, allowing you to flank enemies or gain a vertical advantage over them to gain lines of sight.

The team which most effectively uses this extra space will likely come out on top. When attempting to regain control of TS-1, using these side areas in tandem with your other teammates to pincer the enemies should result in fights finishing before they can respond. Likewise, when you are pushing TS-1, controlling these side areas will ensure you can stop enemies from getting behind you, and essentially control the high ground. Due to the likelihood of getting into 1v1 fights in this mode, heroes that can fare well on their own will perform the best.

It's also important not to get too greedy on this game mode, as you can still win easily without pushing TS-1 all the way to the enemy spawn. Focusing first on getting the second spawn point and then holding onto that is the most important way to gain victory.

That's all for our primer on the Overwatch 2 Push mode, and now you know how the gamemode works, along with some useful tips for making sure you win.
