Diablo 4 Maugan's Works is among the most popular dungeons when it comes to farming experience. Diablo 4's road to level 100 is a steep climb, so grinding in the dungeons is required.

Maugan's Works is an often talked about dungeon, as it is one of the most popular spots for farming experience in the game. Here is everything you need to know to find and complete Maugan's Works in Diablo 4, and what Aspect you can get from it.

How to find Maugan's Works

The location of Maugan's Works in Diablo 4

Maugan's Works can be found in the center of Hawezar. The specific region is called the Fethis Wetlands, the dungeon can be found by heading south from the Ruins of Rakhat Keep, or north from Vyeresz.

There are waypoints in both locations, if you have been to either of them previously you can fast-travel there and quickly make your way to Maugan's Works.

How to complete Maugan's Works

Facing the three bosses in Maugan's Works in Diablo 4

As dungeons are procedurally generated in Diablo 4, an exact step-by-step walkthrough isn't possible. We can, however, go over the steps of the dungeon and talk through any potential sticking points.

Your first objective is to free six prisoners. Make your way through the dungeon, and keep an eye on your map. The prisoners will appear on your map as diamond-shaped icons. When you spot one, head there and interact with the prisoner to free them.

When you free the last prisoner, a miniboss called the Warmaster will appear and attack you. You need to defeat the Warmaster and take their key. As such, be sure you are ready for a fight before you free the final prisoner. The Warmaster is essentially just a larger, tougher Dreadknight, so nothing too different from what you have already been fighting.

With the Warmaster's Key, you can unlock the Deserter's Door and progress. This large door will be marked on your map when you get close to it, so if you have not come across it, you should spot it easily on the map.

Follow the path beyond the door to enter Deserter's Den. There isn't much to worry about here beyond the copious amount of knights you will have to fight as you travel. Before long you will find yourself in the Council of Thieves, where you must defeat the Knight Council.

The boss of this dungeon is in fact three bosses; the Sacred Physician, the Grand Inquisitor, and the Lord Commander. Individually, they are not very tough. The Lord Commander will stand and fight you directly, while the Grand Inquisitor will attack from behind, and the Sacred Physician from a safe distance to the side.

Taking out the Sacred Physician first is a good idea, as they heal the others. Then focus on the Grand Inquisitor, as they have the least health. Finally, you can take on the Lord Commander one-on-one.

Maugan's Works first-time clear reward: Earthstriker's Aspect

the Aspect from Maugan's Works in Diablo 4, Earthstriker's Aspect

Completing Maugan's Works for the first time rewards you with the Earthstriker's Aspect, and it is specific to the Barbarian class. This Aspect activates after swapping weapons 10 times.

When it activates, Earthstriker gives your next attack Overpower, which deals bonus damage equal to your own health. It also makes said Overpower attack do 30-50% more damage.

As with all Aspects, you only get the lowest possible version if you use it. This means equipping the Earthstriker's Aspect will only grant 30% bonus damage.

To improve this, you will need to find a legendary item with the Earthstriker effect that grants higher bonus damage, and either use that item or extract the effect and put it on another piece of gear.
