During the Rite of Passage quest in Diablo 4, when you get to Kyovashad, you will be told by the guards at the gatehouse that you need to take part in a cleansing ritual before you can enter the city. 

You'll be directed to interact with a nearby shrine, where you can inscribe a sin on a piece of wood before casting it into the fire. However, there are five different options to select in this section, and you may want to know if they change anything about the quest. 

Here are the five options:

1. Inscribe Fear into the wood.
2. Inscribe Anger into the wood.
3. Inscribe Pride into the wood.
4. Inscribe Greed into the wood.
5. Inscribe Fear into the wood.
   
   

Essentially, the outcome is exactly the same no matter which choice you make, and it has no lasting impact, so you can treat it as more of a role-playing moment for your character.

Once you make your choice, you will receive some XP, money, and access to the hub area of Kyovashad.
