Players will be able to take part in the Lunar Awakening event for Diablo 4 soon, and we've got all the info you need right here.

This is a new event in the game which features new gameplay mechanics and some helpful buffs to speed up your XP progression. If you're looking to do some quick levelling up, this seems like a good event to participate in. If the new season hasn't pulled you in yet, maybe this event will!

Lunar Awakening start date

The Lunar Awakening event will start on February 6th at 10am PST and last until February 20th.

Throughout this period you'll be able to take part in the event and make use of the various buffs you'll receive around the map. If you're not sure what to expect, keep reading!

Lunar Shrines and Ancestors Favor

The main feature of this event is the new Lunar Shrine mechanic. There are various Lunar Shrines across Sanctuary, and while active they'll give you 50% bonux XP, 30% increased movement speed and other buffs.

They'll also give you Ancestors Favor reputation which you can exchange for fancy Lunar rewards in northern Ked Bardu. Blizzard confirms there will be ten different reputation levels to earn, and six different Lunar cosmetics to grab.

Lunar Shrines can be identified by their draconic appearance. They'll also look different on the map, so look for a new icon!

On top of the regular bonus XP and movespeed buffs, Lunar Shrines will grant you a unique buff when activated.

Here's a list of all Augmented Lunar Shrine effects! Personally, I like the sound of the Greed Shrine and its Treasure Goblins, but others will give you more powerful combat effects.

Lunar Shrine Effect
Artillery Shrine Casts have a chance to summon a holy bomb.
Blast Wave Shrine Each explosion summons a cluster bombardment.
Channeling Shrine Increased attack speed and chance to reset cooldowns.
Conduit Shrine Summon frequent powerful shocking strikes.
Greed Shrine Chance to summon a Treasure Goblin. While the Shrine is active, 25 kills summons a Treasure Goblin and 50 kills summons another.
Lethal Shrine Chance to instantly execute a struck monster, causing Fear on surrounding monsters. (Includes Elites, but not bosses or players)
Protection Shrine You reflect all incoming damage. Damage reflected scales with Level and World Tier.

That just about covers the Lunar Shrines and what you can expect from the Lunar Awakening event. If these new buffs and quicker XP gains sound good to you, now's probably a good time to jump back into the game.
