You may be wondering, what is the VALORANT server tick rate for online matchmaking and ranked games? VALORANT is a competitive tactical FPS that combines with elements of hero shooters to create a unique hybrid.

As a game where precision is imperative, the servers need to be as accurate as possible when representing the actions of players, otherwise it becomes obvious that hit your shots aren't registering and the experience becomes uneven.

So, check out our answer to the question, what is the VALORANT server tick rate?

VALORANT has 128-tick servers, which are highly accurate and the current standard for competitive games, as it's what professional players game on to practice for competitions.

According to Riot Games, as of patch 5.07, 99.3% of all servers have met the 128-tick requirement, meaning the absolute majority of players are having a stable and consistent experience. It's possible that sometimes server issues can cause the tick rate to be affected, but this is a rare occurrence.

Shortly after the game's release in 2020, Riot Games released a technology blog post about VALORANT's 128-tick servers, describing exactly why they knew they needed to meet strict performance requirements and how they managed to optimise it as much as possible.

While 128-tick has been the standard for a while, it could change soon with the introduction of Counter-Strike 2's sub-tick servers, which were revealed in a video by Valve.

Essentially, these types of servers can calculate and record the actions of players at the exact moment they occurred, allowing the server to keep all events in the exact order for a responsive and highly-accurate experience.

It's possible VALORANT could move to a similar style in the future, but for now the 128-tick servers are still a high standard.

That's all for our answer to the question - what is the VALORANT server tick rate? Now you know the majority of them are 128-tick servers.
