The single most important thing to know on any map you decide to raid in Escape From Tarkov is how and where to get out. As the name of the game suggests, the ultimate aim of any raid is to successfully escape and you’ll be hard pressed to do that if you don’t know where your extract points are.

Like all maps your extract points are dependent on your spawn point, with the rough logic being that your extractions are on the opposite side of the map to where you spawned. Alongside this there are a number of situational extracts that are either bound by time, circumstance, or single use. Additionally, there are separate extracts for PMCs and Scavs, and a handful that both can take. Read on below to see a full list of PMC and Scav extracts, with correlating tags to the map found above.

While you’re moving through Customs, make sure to keep an eye out for a couple of these points of interest. Not only are they great loot spots that will make every run worth it, but they are also worth knowing about to avoid. If your backpack is already full to the brim, the last thing you want is to run into another player who might take all that away, so knowing about these spots is a great way to minimise that chance.

Dorms

Dorms is probably the most recognisable spot on the Escape From Tarkov Customs map, as it offers great loot alongside active PVP if that’s what you’re in the mood for. It is located on the south side of the map just down from the main road and has two distinct buildings. If you can get your hands on all of the keys and can safely loot them all you’ll be in for a treat. The Scav boss Reshala also has a high chance of spawning here if you’re looking for an additional combat test.

New Gas Station

Conveniently, the other place where Reshala has a spawn chance is also a key location on the Customs map. Not only do you have a chance of fighting him and his guards, but it is also a good place to find PMCs and has the chance to drop high tier loot. Its proximity to a lot of other mid-tier spots only further enhances why you should make New Gas Station a destination for your raids.

Big Red

The last of the three big hot zones on Customs is Big Red - aptly named due to the fact it is a big red warehouse. It doesn’t have quite as much loot as the other two, but if you can get your hands on the Tarcone director’s office key there is a safe and a couple of other spots to scavenge. It also attracts a lot of attention from other PMCs due to its proximity to a lot of east side spawns.

All maps in Escape From Tarkov are home to nasty Scav bosses ready to ruin your day and Customs is no different. Thankfully there are currently only two that you have the chance to run in to, so you don’t have to worry too much.

The first and the one you’re most likely to encounter is the aforementioned Reshala. He and his guards have three main areas that they have a chance to spawn at. Dorms and New Gas Station are the ones you are most likely to find him at, but you can also run into his posse at the Scav base by ZB-013.

If you like running night raids however, there is a chance that you could encounter the terrifying Cultist Priest. In the in-game hours between 22:00 and 6:00, the Cultist priest and his warriors can take Reshala’s place at the Scav base, and they can mess you up very easily.

So, that just about covers the bulk of what you need to know when tackling the Escape From Tarkov Customs map. It is an essential map to get the hang of early game as a lot of the first tasks take place on there. If you’re struggling with more than just Customs though, why not take a look at our Escape From Tarkov tips to help you get the hang of things.
