Kratos and Atreus' last chapter in Norse mythology, God of War Ragnarok, is nearing its November release date. However, some PS4 fans may be wondering if the game's even arriving on their platform as PS5 consoles are still hard to access. Here are all the answers we know to the question: is God of War Ragnarok on PS4?

For those struggling to find a PS5, you may be happy to know that a God of War Ragnarok on PS4 release will be unleashed on the same day as the current generation version. 

The PS4 version of God of War Ragnarok will also have a launch edition, just like the PS5's. It will have the Risen Snow armour and tunic for Kratos and Atreus respectively. There's also a collectors edition that will be released.

 

It will be interesting to find out how the PS4 version runs as the game will delve into all nine realms rather than the six we could explore in the 2018 instalment. Will it be laggy during a big boss battle developed for the PS5?

"God of War Ragnarök will take you to the previously unreachable Vanaheim, Svartalfheim, and Asgard – as well as to new areas from locations featured in the last game," says Grace Orlady, Lead Community Manager of Sony Santa Monica on the PlayStation Blog, "Exploring the realms will take you everywhere from verdant, otherworldly jungles to intricate subterranean mining." 

Can You Upgrade God of War: Ragnarok on PS4 to PS5?

God of War Ragnarok will likely run decently on the PS4 but to get all the graphical enhancements and the DualSense compatibility, you'll need the PS5 version. The great thing is that you can upgrade the PS4 version to PS5, but there is a price involved. You'll need to pay $10 for the upgrade on the PlayStation Store. Your PS4 disc will then help you boot up God of War Ragnarok on your system with the PS5 version. 

God of War Ragnarok will be released on both PS4 and PS5 on November 9. Hopefully, it won't get pushed to 2023.
