Beast scraps are an important resource to stock up on, as while God of War Ragnarok is an adventure through the Nine Realms, but you won't get very far if you don't consistently update and improve your equipment. Beast scraps are a fairly common resource and are useful for upgrading Atreus' bow and Kratos' relics.

Here is what you need to know to get plenty of beast scraps.

Where can you find beast scraps?

The handy thing about beast scraps being a generally common item is that you will often get some from chests. It almost goes without saying, but while you are playing God of War Ragnarok, it is highly advisable to seek out chests for resources. Going off the beaten path is a great way to find useful things.

There are times when Ragnarok gives you some obvious choices; go left to continue the main quest or go right to do some side activities, and taking that right turn is usually a great way to get some extra goodies. There are some less obvious paths you can take, places you could easily miss in your travels.

Exploring those places generally yields rewards as well, so be sure to check every nook and cranny. The best policy for stocking up on resources like beast scraps is to explore and find everything you can.

Defeating beasts to earn beast scraps

As the name suggests, beast scraps are a resource garnered from beasts. Beast scraps are often dropped by defeated beasts, which are a type of enemy. Essentially, beasts are enemies that aren't human-like or gods. This accounts for a significant chunk of the enemies in the game, but they are more prevalent in some areas than others.

Let's use the early goings of the game for example. Starting out in Midgard, the majority of enemies you will face will be raiders, who are human and will not drop Beast Scraps. Then, moving on to Sfartelfheim, many of the enemies here are Grims and Wretches.

As beasts, they can drop beast scraps when defeated. As such, if you are looking to stock up specifically on beast scraps, focus on places like Sfartelfheim or Vanaheim which are filled with beast-type enemies.
