How To Fix God Of War Ragnarok Screen Tearing
Screen tearing is nothing new and has happened to various PS5 games. This can occur in different circumstances depending on the game, but screen tearing happens when the Hz and resolution of your monitor are out of sync with the game due to a mismatch. Thanks to an explanation made in a Reddit thread by U/WaaghMan, we have a specific explanation as to why screen tearing might be happening in God of War Ragnarok, along with how to fix it.
In God of War Ragnarok, screen tearing can occur when trying to run the game's Favour Performance graphics mode. This is due to the mode running with VSync off. So if your monitor and game are mismatched, VSync is present to automatically correct the screen tearing error.
The way to fix the screen tearing in GoW Ragnarok is to turn on Favours Quality graphics mode. As this runs with VSync On, you should have the screen tearing issue fixed instantly.
Other Fixes For GoW Ragnarok Screen Tearing
Depending on your monitor, alternative methods to fixing the God of War Ragnarok screen tearing issue can be enabling 120Hz output. When in the settings of your PS5, go the "Screen and Video". Then, go to the option for enabling 120Hz and set it to "Automatic". To take effect, simply restart your PS5 and reload the game.
A third method is by fixing the mismatch between your monitor and God of War Ragnarok by changing the resolution. When in the PS5 menu, go to the "Screen and Video" section, Resolution, and switch the resolution output to that of your monitor. After restarting your PS5, the screen tearing issue should hopefully be fixed.
