One of 2022's most anticipated games, God of War Ragnarok is massive in both scope and literal size. It has been revealed that the sequel to the hit 2018 title has different file sizes on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, but how big is the game altogether on each console? Let's get into the God of War Ragnarok file size for both PS5 and PS4.

How Big God of War Ragnarok File Size?

After pre-installing both versions of the game, PlayStation Game Size released a Twitter thread confirming with screenshots that God of War Ragnarok's file size is 84.095GB on PS5 and 106.817GB on PS4 in the US. This corresponds with an earlier reveal of the God of War Ragnarok file size the usually accurate leaker gave on 20 October, detailing larger storage requirements for the EU - up to 100GB on PS5 and 118.519GB on PS4 - due to added-on support for various local languages.

Comparing both variations of the PS5 and PS4 versions respectively, the God of War Ragnarok file size is unsurprisingly a significantly smaller amount on PS5, due to the new-gen console's integrated IO providing far better compression capabilities than the PS4. What remains interesting however, is that while God of War (2018) has a file size of 45GB on PS4, Ragnarok is more than twice as large on the same console - a testament to the larger scale of the in-game world's expansion and the sequel's production overall.

With that, you have everything you need to know about the God of War Ragnarok file size! In the meantime, be sure to also check out whether God of War Ragnarok will come to PC, or what comes with the free God of War (2018) PS5 upgrade
