Will God Of War Ragnarok Be On PC?

Players all over are excited to play God of War Ragnarok following its launch on Friday, 9 November 2022. Such hype has built over the four years since the original game's launch, with God of War (2018) selling a massive 23 million copies - bolstered by its PC launch in January 2022. Will Ragnarok be planning to do the same? Let's get into whether there will be a God of War Ragnarok PC port.

Will God of War Ragnarok Be On PC?

Around the time of the 2018 God of War's PC port in January 2022, creative director Cory Barlog and senior manager of technical production Matt DeWald sat down for an interview with Game Informer. During this, Barlog was asked if we could see God of War Ragnarok on PC sooner than four years after its PC launch, unlike the first game. In response, it seems like he kept his cards close to his chest: 

"I have no idea. Right now, we’re taking it one game at a time, kind of looking at each one and determining, “Okay, is this the best thing?” And we’ll gauge how it does. Do people enjoy it? Did we do it right? Is there anything we did wrong? What can we do better in the future if we do this again? But at the end of the day, ultimately, it’s Sony’s decision."

With this kind of answer, it's always important to take note of the wording. Essentially, Barlog had kept the door for a God of War Ragnarok PC port open without jumping the gun. After all, taking your game to another platform with a different array of technical specs to cater to depends on how it performs on the one it launched on, both critically and commercially - just as the 2018 game was. Simply put, a God of War Ragnarok will almost definitely come to PC - as long as it does well on PlayStation consoles first. Hopefully, with the groundwork Sony Santa Monica already laid in PC-exclusive features for God of War (2018), it wouldn't take as long to do the same for Ragnarok.
