However, it's easy to wonder "does God of War Ragnarok have cross-save?". Let's get into everything you need to know on if and how you can perform a save transfer in God of War Ragnarok

Simply put, yes, God of War Ragnarok does have cross-save capabilities via a save transfer from PS4 to PS5. However, it should be kept in mind that this does not go the other way, meaning you cannot transfer God of War Ragnarok saves from PS5 to PS4

This cross-save transfer for God of War Ragnarok from PS4 to PS5 can be performed in two different ways: uploading and downloading your save across the cloud using PlayStation Plus, or doing so via an external storage device. Using the cloud to upload and download your save via PlayStation Plus is definitely the easiest method, but it does require a subscription. Alternatively, transferring your save from PS4 to PS5 with an external storage device is both fairly easy and free if you have already got an external hard drive or even a memory stick to hand.

PlayStation Plus Cloud Storage Transfer

Transferring your God of War Ragnarok saves from PS4 to PS5 via cloud storage transfer is quite straightforward when you are aware of the steps involved.

  1. Firstly, when you are on the PS4 menu, take your cursor over to God of War Ragnarok and press the "Options" button.
  2. Among those options on the drop-down menu, interact with the option that says "Upload/Download Saved Data", then select and upload the save file of your choosing.
  3. When on the PS5 menu, go into the PlayStation Plus section, go to the top right "More" menu (shown by the three dots), and select "Cloud Storage".
  4. Then, go to "Saved Data (PS4)" and select "Cloud Storage".
  5. Find the God of War Ragnarok save you are looking to transfer, select, and download.

External Storage Transfer

Save files are quite small, so even if you don't have an external hard drive handy, a memory stick will do perfectly as well to transfer your God of War Ragnarok save from PS4 to PS5. Insert your external storage device into your PS4's USB and follow these steps.

  1. After going into your PS4's settings, select "Application Saved Data Management".
  2. Select "Saved Data in System Storage".
  3. Then choose "Copy to USB Storage Device".
  4. Select God of War Ragnarok, then the specific save file of your choosing, then "Copy".
  5. Remove your external storage device and insert it into one of your PS5's USB ports.
  6. On the PS5 menu, go into your settings and select "Application Saved Data Management".
  7. Under "Saved Data (PS4)", select "USB Drive".
  8. Select your God of War Ragnarok save file and select copy.

With either of those methods, you'll have successfully performed a cross-save transfer for God of War Ragnarok from your PS4 to PS5!
