Apex Legends Wattson is a quirky one. She’s not entirely ready to fight, and might be a little nervous at the best of times - but if you’re able to master her abilities in Apex Legends efficiently, then you’ll be the best player in the entire match to hold down a location and keep your foes out of your safe space. But how exactly do you go about mastering her pretty complicated arsenal of abilities? Here’s all you need to know on how to master Apex Legends Wattson.

All of Wattson’s abilities gravitate around her focus on locking down locations and keeping enemies away. Her Perimeter Security tactical ability allows her to lay down electrified fences that damage and slow enemies that walk through it. They also indicate enemies that run through it to you and your team can be ready to take out the already damaged foe.

Her passive ability is also pretty useful - Spark of Genius allows Wattson to fully charge her ultimate ability with a single ultimate accelerant - plus, Wattson is able to carry two per backpack slot. These definitely come in handy for…

Apex Legends Wattson Ultimate

Wattson’s Interception Pylon is a great asset to your stronghold, destroying incoming ordnance and slowly repairing the shields of nearby teammates. Stick a few of these down in an electrified building, and nobody’s getting the drop on you.

As you can expect, Wattson’s fences are the biggest part of her strategies. The first thing that’s worth remembering when it comes to fencing off doorways, make sure you hide the pylons themselves from the sight of enemies outside. Fences can be destroyed by foes by shooting at the base of the pylons, so you don’t want to risk your whole network of fences being reduced to ash. Always place your fences on the inside of the building, keeping pylons behind walls.

It’s also worth planting the fences in a triangle formation rather than just straight across the doorway. This way, if a cocky Octane tries to make the push through, they’ll take an unexpected double dose of damage and slowing, making them much easier for you to polish off.

A lot of players will expect Wattson to only be useful in a smaller, more enclosed space - but this doesn’t always have to be the case. As long as you can secure the high grounds and keep the bases of your pylons out of sight, you can just as easily hole out in the open ground - just make sure you use all of the fences at your disposal.

If anyone knows the arena, it’s Natalie Paquette, daughter to the Apex Games’ lead engineer. After studying her father’s manuals, books, and guides, she found comfort in electricity while developing the arena’s revolutionary modified containment ring.

As her father died on the day of the ring’s unveiling, she found comfort in her friends who fought in the arena, and now joins them in the Apex games to protect them and uses her genius contraptions to keep them out of harm’s way.

That’s all you need to know to take Wattson to the arena - get out there and get those fences up!
