Apex Legends cross-progression has been a long sought after feature in this popular battle royale. Apex Legends has really went from strength to strength as it added new modes, continued to build its roster of legends and introduced a brand new map last season. Now with season 12 just round the corner, have there been any updates on Apex Legends cross-progression? Let's jump into everything we know about Apex Legends cross-progression.

Sadly, Apex Legends cross-progression still hasn't arrived as we ticked on over into 2022, but we had expected as much. As part of a Reddit AMA, Director of Communications Ryan K. Rigney suggested the difficulty of making cross-progression a reality.

“Cross-progression is gnarly as hell in terms of being a problem to solve”, he said. “It’s not only that you have to solve the technical challenge of merging existing accounts, but there are also legal and contractual issues to navigate with purchasing on other platforms”.

While Respawn Entertainment is still working on cross-progression, there is hope that it will arrive with upcoming seasons. Rigney continues in his comment, "It’s a mess. But we’re working on it, and we’re committed to delivering it", and his comments came just after the launch of season 10 Emergence. We are now on the cusp of season 12, which has yet to be fully unveiled.

It was also suggested that the ‘save Titanfall’ hack that occurred last year hindered the progress of cross-progression in Apex Legends, so maybe as a result of this, we’ll have to wait longer for it. However, there’s every chance that 2022 could be the year that we see cross-progression, with a long-rumoured new-gen upgrade supposedly arrive with the launch of season 12.

Cross-progression has been a long time coming for Apex Legends, but hopefully we won't have too much longer to wait. We'll be sure to keep this article updated as we learn more, and in the meantime check out all there is to know about Apex Legends crossplay.
