Fans playing the Lightfall expansion in Destiny 2 will be wondering when the Reaper mod is coming back, as Destiny 2 has a whole suite of new mods for players to get to grips with.

The Reaper mod was causing some issues and has been temporarily deactivated, but we'll all be curious as to when it'll be making its way back into the game - so here's what we know.

When is the Reaper mod coming back?

The Reaper mod will be re-enabled on March 9, 2023.

What was the issue with the Reaper mod?

As is customary with new Destiny 2 releases, something had to break. In the case of Lightfall, it was Crucible that broke. What happened was that some folks discovered that you could use Reaper mods in a particular way in order to get free orbs, and, essentially, infinite supers.

The method was strange, but essentially you first had to activate the mod. The Reaper mod states that, after using your class ability, your next final blow will create an Orb of Power. However, for one reason or another, you could make this happen multiple times.

By having multiple Reaper mods equipped, activating the mod, and then cycling said mods on and off of your armour, more and more Orbs of Power would spawn. This meant you could stand there and produce near-infinite amounts of orbs.
