Gem dust is less of a resource, as it is a byproduct of other items. As such, it is not something that with a clear and easy method to procure. For the most part, gem dust is something you will accumulate passively, as you break rocks and harvest gemstones. Any rock you break has a chance to give some gem dust.

While exploring Farbane Woods, breaking rocks with crude gems in them is your best bet for gathering some gem dust. Stones containing crude gems are the most likely to also give some gem dust.

There is a more deliberate method to gain gem dust, but it means sacrificing some of your gems. Build a Devourer in your castle and feed it some gems. Even crude gems are plenty here, a crude sapphire will turn into four gem dust in the Devourer. If you really need gem dust and you have an abundance of gems, this could be your best bet.

Gem dust is rarely used as a resource, but it does pop up in some important recipes. For example, you need 10 gem dust to construct a Vampire Waygate. You can have your very own teleporter, and place more anywhere you like, but you need gem dust to do it.

You also need to unlock the blueprint for the Vampire Waygate, which is procured from defeating Polora the Feywalker. She is a level 36 boss in the northwest of Farbane Woods, in an area called the Gleaming Meadow. That gleaming is no joke, definitely do not go there during the day unless you fancy getting cooked.

Defeat Polora and you will get the blueprint for Vampire Waygates. Being able to construct your own teleporters is incredibly useful, so in a way, gem dust is a valuable resource.

That is everything there is to know about V Rising gem dust. For more useful tips, check out our V Rising Dark Silver Ingots guide.
