There are a plethora of abilities to use in V Rising, allowing you to deal a tonne of damage, trick enemies, or escape scot-free, providing you with a solution to the range of deadly situations you can find yourself in as a lone vampire. So here's our breakdown of the best V Rising abilities, taking into consideration both PvE and PvP gameplay.

  • Make sure to check our breakdown of V Rising PvP mode, including the differences from PvE, and how to join a relevant server.

Best V Rising Abilities - Power Surge

Power Surge is a Chaos tree ability that allows you to remove all negative effects and apply a shield with 150% of your spell power to yourself or an ally. Additionally, it provides a movement and attack speed bonus of 25% while the shield remains. It's a later-game ability that you will have to defeat Azariel the Sunbringer to acquire, and he is a very difficult, level 68 boss that's located in the Brighthaven Cathedral in Silverlight Hills.

This ability is extremely effective at getting you out of tight spots and completely turning the tide of a fight when applied to the correct person. You should always be applying this to yourself during boss fights to help counter their most powerful effects, and casting it on damage focused teammates during PvP encounters will allow them to tank hits for a short period, while still dealing high damage and staying mobile.

  • We also have a list of V Rising tips, so you can get a better understanding of the game and get an advantage over other players.

Best V Rising Abilities - Unstable Mosquito

Unstable Mosquito is a late-game ability, but it allows you to blind-side enemies with burst damage, and increase your clear potential. It falls under the Unholy tree, and lets you summon a mosquito that chases the nearest enemy and explodes after one second.

The explosion deals 60% magic damage in an AoE, and inflicts an Amplify status that increases damage taken by 25% for five seconds. You'll need to travel to the Cursed Forest to defeat Matka the Curse Weaver, who is a level 72 boss, before you can earn this ability.

Surprising an enemy party in PvP with this can easily cause them to be wiped thanks to the damage increase, and it makes bosses that summon lots of mobs a little easier to deal with. The individual damage from the explosion isn't huge, but the AoE effect and Amplify status more than make up for it, making this one of the better clearing solutions.

Best V Rising Abilities - Chaos Volley

Chaos Volley is one of the stronger abilities that can be gained during the early period of the game and makes for a consistently useful damage ability throughout. It allows you to launch two Chaos Bolts which deal 125% magic damage and inflict a Chaos Burn effect, and can be gained after defeating Lidia the Chaos Archer in the Farbane Woods.

It's a powerful but simple damage dealer that works in just about any encounter in the game, and maintains its efficacy in the PvP mode, allowing you to mince enemies if you can hit the ability consistently. Paired with the Scholar V Rising blood type, you can even increase your spell damage to make it even stronger against enemies.

When it comes to healing, Sanguine Coil is one of the better choices due to its variation in how it can be used, allowing you to opt for damage and healing, or pure healing. It's a Blood ability where you launch a projectile that deals 75% magic damage and leeches 40% health when thrown at an enemy, or heals an ally for 100% health and yourself for 40% of your spell power when thrown at an ally. To get it, you will need to defeat Meredith the Bright Archer in the Dunley Farmlands.

The damage paired with the heal alone makes it one of the stronger abilities, but the added option to just heal you and an ally can be a game-changer in some situations. It's just a consistently useful ability, letting you last longer against bosses and fights in general, support a teammate who is close to death, or grab that vital bit of health when making an escape.

This is the Illusory ultimate ability that gives you some of the strongest damage in the game, and lets you apply a powerful debuff to enemies after. Upon being cast, you will dash forward and bounce between nearby enemies for three seconds, hitting for a total of 600% magic damage, and then dashing in the direction of your cursor a final time. All targets hit by the ability also get a Weakness debuff of 30% for five seconds. You'll be able to unlock this after defeating V Rising Octavian the Militia Captain.

This ability is useful in any citation where you are outnumbered by enemies, and especially in boss encounters with other mobs, as you can simultaneously clear the enemies and weaken the boss to deal extra damage. The final dash is also a useful piece of mobility to escape from between the enemies you've just hit, ensuring you don't immediately get attacked afterwards.

The Toad Form ability is pretty simple, and only allows you to transform into a Toad for a while, but it can let you gain quick access to new heights, or jump over obstacles blocking your way, making it one of the better mobility skills. To gain it, you will need to defeat the Duke of Balaton in the Cursed Forest region in the north of the map, but he's a level 62 boss, meaning you should wait before taking him on.

Best V Rising Abilities - Summon Fallen Angel

Summon Fallen Angel is perhaps the best summoning ability in the game and can give you the upper hand in any fight thanks to its effects. It's the Unholy ultimate ability, and it lets you summon the Fallen Angel to fight beside you for 15 seconds. It will attack nearby enemies to deal damage, and also inflict an Amplify status on them, increasing the damage they take from all sources by 25% for five seconds. You will need to defeat the hardest boss currently in the before earning this ability, which is the level 80 Solarus the Immaculate.

Whenever you're outnumbered, this ability can come in clutch to even the odds and let you and the Fallen Angel deal massive damage to enemies. Pairing it with other summons from allies, or yourself, will also increase its usefulness due to the extra status effects.

That's all for our list of the best V Rising abilities, and now you know some of the most powerful abilities that you can use in the game to give you the upper hand in a number of different situations and encounters. We'll also update this as more abilities are added with new content, as V Rising is still an early access title.
