How To Farm V Rising Scales
Click to enlargeScales become much more useful in the late game as they are key for upgrading your tier three weapons and armour, making them more powerful overall. Luckily, there are many places to farm for Scales which vary in difficulty and engagement, so you can choose whichever one works for you.
The easiest way of gathering tonnes of Scales quickly is by killing Earthworm enemies. Each time they are killed, they can drop between 80 and 100 Scales, and they are essentially cannon fodder, making them easy to take out in big numbers for big rewards. Earthworms can be found in swamps and bayous across the world map, but the best location is Swamp of Greed in the Cursed Forest.
While in the Swamp of Greed area, you can also farm Frogs for scales. These don't typically drop as many scales as Earthworms, but considering their close proximity, it's worth taking them out while looping around the area. While here, you should also take on the boss Duke of Balaton, as they will drop a tonne of Scales when slain, but you should wait until you hit at least level 62.
Another place to get Scales in this region is the Spider Cave which is located in the centre of the Cursed Forest. Killing the spider enemies here can get you net you ten scales each, so it's worth exploring after draining the swamps of Earthworms and Frogs.
Lastly, you can also gain Scales from fishing at various spots across the world. For eight Planks, four V Rising Coarse Threads, and four Copper Ingots, you can build a Fishing Pole. Fishing spots are denoted by the bubbles coming from the water, and they are most prominent in the Farbane Woods and Dunley Farmlands.
After collecting enough fish, you can take them back to The Devourer at your castle, and recycle the fish into crafting components, which should net you some Scales. This is also a great method for earning V Rising Fish Oil for later in the game.
