There's nothing better than playing a great co-op game with your friends, so you might be wondering if Helldivers 2 is co-op, and what multiplayer support the game has.

Does Helldivers 2 feature multiplayer co-op?

Yes, Helldivers 2 is a co-op game through and through, as it was built with co-op in mind.

You can play online with up to four players, but there's no local co-op available. That means you won't be able to take part in couch co-op, split screen play.

The lack of a local co-op might be a disappointment to some, but it's still great news that it features a fully functional co-op online mode.

Helldivers 2 features crossplay between PC and PS5. You'll be able to play with friends on both systems regardless of which platform you're using.

When it comes to cross-progression across platforms, things are a little less concrete. The game doesn't have this option right now, but it has been teased that it could be added soon.

After being asked about cross-progression in the game, Johan Pilestedt, the Creative Director for Helldivers 2, tweeted: "There will probably be cross-progression sometime in the future.

"We didn't think enough people would be interested so we decided to cut it - but now it seems there's a significant part of the audience that is playing on both platforms."

In case you're unaware, cross-progression is the ability to save progress on one platform and pick it back up on another. Quite a few fans have been asking for this, especially as some like to play the game on the go.
