Want to be ready for the Destiny 2 Season of the Deep start time? Destiny 2 will have its next big refresh when the new season begins soon.
Season of the Deep starts a new chapter, and the first new batch of content to hit the game since the release of Lightfall. Here is everything you need to know to be ready for the Destiny 2 Season of the Deep start time.
- Get the lowdown on what's changing in the Destiny 2 early patch notes for update 7.1.0.
When does Destiny 2 Season of the Deep start?
Destiny 2 Season of the Deep starts on May 23, at 10 AM PT/1 PM ET/6 PM GMT. If you aren't in any major rush, then rest assured that you can get started on this new season after that time. For those of you who are looking to jump on as quickly as possible, there are some things you should be aware of.
The first thing is the server status and planned downtime. As with most big releases of Destiny 2 content, there will be some downtime when the game will be unavailable before the update is implemented.
This downtime will begin at 8:15 AM PT/11:15 AM ET/4:15 PM GMT. Be sure you have done everything you need to do before that time so you don't miss out.

What to do before Season of the Deep starts?
With not much time left now, there are a couple of things you should do if you are playing ahead of the new season. Be sure to tick off any completed seasonal challenges and decrypt all seasonal engrams, as these will likely disappear once Season of Defiance is over.
You can hold on to any bounties you have completed if you wish, provided they are not seasonal bounties attached to Season of Defiance activities. Cash those in now, to avoid losing out entirely.
Finally, go through your season pass if you have purchased it and make sure to accept everything you have unlocked. Some items, such as armour cosmetics, must be claimed on each individual character, so be sure to jump on all of your characters and claim your rewards before they disappear.
That is it for our rundown of the Destiny 2 Season of the Deep start time. For more on the game, check out our guide to Destiny 2 Season of the Deep artifact mods.
