Destiny 2 Chromatic Fire: How To Get It
Chromatic Fire is a slightly older exotic armour piece, so it is not tied into the Destiny 2 Lost Sector method of acquiring armour. For this one, we need to do things the old-fashioned way. There are a couple of ways to get this particular armour piece. The only way to get the Chromatic Fire without relying on random drops is to hope that Xur will sell it on the weekend. It is a fairly regular part of his stock, so if you need this piece then be sure to check in with Xur when he comes by.
Outside of Xur, you are relying on pure luck to get this piece. You can get this exotic from any random exotic drop, which is as rare as it sounds. Exotics can drop during regular play, basically from anywhere, so you might get lucky. There are exotic engrams in the battle pass which, if you are seeking out this particular exotic, be sure to open those engrams with your Warlock to maximise your chances of getting it. The game prioritises giving you exotics you don’t yet have, so play as your Warlock and there’s a decent chance the Chromatic Fire will pop up before long.

Destiny 2 Chromatic Fire: What It Does
Chromatic Fire’s exotic perk causes precision final blows with kinetic weapons to cause an explosion. The element of the explosion is determined by your subclass, if you are rocking Arc then the explosion will do Arc damage, and so on. Effectively, this exotic applies the Firefly perk to whatever kinetic weapon you have equipped. This is specifically for kinetic weapons, not weapons in the kinetic slot, as any Stasis weapons you have in that slot will not work with the exotic.
There are so many uses for this exotic. It is great for clearing out groups of enemies, in PvE or PvP. Combining it with Ace of Spades or Outbreak Perfected will make the most out of the Chromatic Fire’s crowd controlling capabilities. Yes, although the exotic basically grants the Firefly perk, it can stack with Ace of Spades’ Firefly meaning every enemy you defeat with precision damage will explode twice. This exotic is a lot of fun.
That is everything there is to know about the Destiny 2 Chromatic Fire Warlock exotic armour. For more on the game, check out our Destiny 2 Vow of the Disciple raid guide.
