Palworld offers an expansive open world that players can explore at their own pace. While the game provides you with tools like Grappling Gun and Gliders, aerial mounts are by far the best way to travel around the map.

So if you've just started playing Palworld and want to explore the map for the best base locations, resource farming, or to take down Alpha Pals, keep reading our guide as we explain how to get a flying mount during the early game in Palworld.

How to get a flying mount in Palworld

Palworld Nitewing

In Palworld, you can get a flying mount that you can ride even in the early game by capturing a Nitewing and unlocking its saddle in the Level 15 line in the Technology Tree

Once that is done, you can craft the Nitewing Saddle at the Pal Gear Workbench. After that, while having Nitewing active in your party, summon him using the Pal Sphere and press the 'F' key to start flying.

Palworld Using Nitewing as mount

Nitewing is the first flying mount that players can unlock in the game. While you can capture or incubate a variety of flying Pals in Palworld during early game, the ability to use them as mounts can only be unlocked in mid to late game as you must be at a certain level.

That being said, finding and capturing Nigtewing is a lot easier as they are a common spawn in the starting island, Plateau of Beginnings, and are even found in every other eastern and western island. To make the search and capture process easier, here's a map screenshot sharing Nigtewing's habitat details.

Now, as we mentioned earlier, to obtain Nitewing's Saddle, you must be at level 15, which is very easy to achieve in an hour or so by engaging in base building or crafting a ton of regular Pal Spheres and capturing the low-level like Chikipi, Lamball and Cattiva.

We've also put together a handy guide to farming EXP and levelling up fast if you need a little help reaching that threshold.

That concludes our guide on how to get flying mount early game in Palworld. While you're here, check out how to fast travel, how to change difficulty settings, and the best starter Pals to catch in the early game
