With System Shock 2023, the game has been completely remade for the current-gen. If you're looking to play System Shock on PC, it's wise to check if the game meets your PC specs first before purchasing.

Stick around and we'll go through the recommended PC settings to play System Shock.

What are the requirements to play the game on PC?

The following are the minimum and recommended system requirements for playing on PC.

Minimum system requirements:

  • OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit only)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-2400/AMD FX-8320 or better
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 670 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB or better
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 10 GB available space

Recommended system requirements:

  • OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit only)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-3770/AMD FX-8350 or better
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 970 4GB/AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB or better
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 10 GB available space

The memory cost is low, and the storage space is only 10GB which is a refreshing sight, particularly in a world where games are getting larger and larger. It's not uncommon to see 100+ GB games these days.

As System Shock is a somewhat contained experience, it will only take approximately 6 hours to complete on the easiest difficulty. This range will increase to upwards of 30 hours on higher difficulties and with full exploration.
