The Ghost Ships are ethereal-looking ships that can be found in the game's oceans. Boarding one will begin a raid-like activity where you need to fight off waves of ghastly pirates before a timer runs out, which is similar to certain Lost Ark dungeons. Once you finish one successfully, you can claim your rewards, but do note that you can only earn these rewards once per week.

Before you think about finding the Lost Ark Ghost Ships, it's worth making sure you have hit the trigger that unlocks them. It goes without saying that you need access to the Lost Ark ships, and will also need to boost your equipped item level to 460. Lost Ark Harmony Shards are required for this, but there are still some more criteria for unlocking Ghost Ships.

Your ship must reach level two from partaking in A New Voyage and Wall of Procyon, which are quests that can be started by talking to the Queen of North Vern, which is a northern continent. Afterwards, you can set sail for the Rohendel continent, which unlocks a tonne more end-game content, and, of course, Ghost Ships.

Once you are sailing the oceans again, you should see icons on the mini-map of grey ships which means a Ghost Ship has spawned nearby. Navigating your ship close to one of these Ghost Ships will activate the event and let you begin fighting them. These are really tough events too, so make sure you are prepared for the battle. All the Ghost Ships are shown on the map above.

As you move through the end-game content of Lost Ark and gain a higher equipped item level, you can unlock two new types of Ghost Ship which can be dealt with for even better loot. All the current Ghost Ships are:

  • Nightmare Ghost Ship - Item Level 460
  • Shadow Ghost Ship - Item Level 960
  • Tempest Ghost Ship - Item Level 1370

Most of the rewards for this are random, so you can receive a litany of different items like engravings or gems, along with resources. The best part about these events is the experience gain, and the Lost Ark Pirate Coins, as the ghost ships become the most valuable way of gaining this currency after you've farmed the islands themselves.

That's our primer on the Lost Ark Ghost Ships, and now know the criteria for unlocking these difficult events along with the rewards.
