The process of how to unlock Superman in Fortnite is different from your typical skin. No amount of Fortnite XP or Fortnite Battle Stars will unlock Superman - and you can't buy him with V-Bucks.  Players that want to unlock the Fortnite Superman skin will need to complete a series of special Superman quests. In this guide, we will highlight exactly how to unlock Superman in Fortnite along with the rest of the Superman cosmetic set. Additionally, we’ll cover how to acquire the Shadow Superman Style.

How To Unlock Superman In Fortnite: Superman Skin Release Date

Players can officially begin the process of unlocking Superman on August 10, 2021. This date is precisely nine weeks into Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 7.

How To Unlock Superman In Fortnite: Superman Cosmetics

The Man of Steel did not come to Fortnite alone. He brings with him a slew of additional cosmetics including a Superman-themed pickaxe, glider, back bling, banner icons, sprays, and more.

Joining Superman on the Fortnite island are fellow superheroes Armoured Batman and Beast Boy. All three of these legendary heroes will appear on the map as non-player characters (NPCs). Armored Batman can be found near Dirty Docks, Beast Boy resides in Weeping Woods, and the one and only Clark Kent can be spotted at The Orchard.

Speak to these heroic NPCs to accept unique Superman quests. Completing these assigned quests will unlock a couple of Superman’s accessory cosmetics in addition to the Clark Kent base skin.

  • Take damage from a player and survive (Beast Boy)
  • Reach speed 99 in a vehicle (Beast Boy)
  • Use a Launchpad (Armored Batman)
  • Fly a Saucer (Armored Batman)
  • Visit three Different Named Locations (Clark Kent)
  • Visit the Mothership or an Alien Biome (Clark Kent)
  • Defeat Aliens (Armored Batman, Beast Boy, and Clark Kent)

Completing one of the seven Superman quests above will unlock the Call to Action Emoticon. Players that complete three of the Superman quests will be granted the Superman Shield Spray. Finally, completing five of the seven quests listed above will unlock the almighty Clark Kent skin.

Now that you have acquired the Clark Kent skin, players will need to equip the outfit to begin the process of unlocking Superman’s true form. The following challenges can only be completed while wearing the Clark Kent skin:

  • Glide through rings as Clark Kent (5)
    • Reward: The Daily Planet Back Bling
  • Use a Phone Booth as Clark Kent (1)
    • Reward: Secret Identity Emote, Superman's Cape Back Bling, and the Clark Kent (Superman) skin

Glide through five rings as Clark Kent to unlock the Daily Planet Back Bling. Using a Phone Booth as Clark Kent will grant the iconic Superman style variant for Clark Kent, Superman's Cape Back Bling, and the Secret Identity Emote - a built-in emote that transforms Clark Kent into Superman.

But that’s not all - there’s a Superman glider, pickaxe, and black and white Shadow style variants that Fortnite players can unlock as well. These rewards are granted to players based on how many Epic quests they have completed throughout Chapter 2 - Season 7.

  • Complete Epic Quests (63)
    • Reward: Kal-El's Cape Glider
  • Complete Epic Quests (68)
    • Reward: Banner Icon
  • Complete Epic Quests (73)
    • Reward: The Last Son of Krypton Loading Screen
  • Complete Epic Quests (78)

Unlocking these unique Superman cosmetics will require that you complete a significant amount of Epic quests. Each week, seven new Epic quests are added to the game. When Superman first goes live, there will only be 63 possible Epic quests available to complete. This means Fortnite players will need to wait until at least Week 12 to unlock the entire Superman cosmetic collection including the Shadow variant styles.

Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 7 is scheduled to end on September 12, 2021. When it does, Superman and the Superman cosmetics will be locked forever. So, make sure you complete all of the Superman quests before Fortnite Season 8 begins.

Fortnite is known for its genre-defying collabs. No video game in history has produced collaborations near the level Fortnite has been able to pull off. Out of all of these insane collabs, Superman may be the most iconic one.

With great power comes great responsibility. It won’t be easy to unlock Superman. The path will be difficult, but it'll be all worth it in the end. Follow this guide and you’ll be one of the first players to unlock Superman in Fortnite.
