Earning loads of XP is the key to levelling up fast in Fortnite, which is especially important if you’re trying to unlock everything in the latest season's Battle Pass.

Although you'll gain XP naturally as you play, there are several methods to help speed up the process in the game. Whether you're saving up your Battle Stars to get a new skin or you've got your eye on a fresh emote and need some V-Bucks from the Battle Pass, I've got some tips on how to get them sooner.

Tips for levelling up fast in Fortnite

Using a combination of these methods will ensure you're zipping through this season's levels in a flash:

1. Complete Milestones

Milestones are long-term quests that can net you a great deal of XP over time. These quests can be anything from travelling distance to thanking the bus driver. You can view them in the Quests tab in the Fortnite lobby.

Completing Milestones can be a bit of a grind, but the good news is that you'll probably tick them off during everyday matches anyway.

2. Complete weekly challenges

Completing weekly challenges in Fortnite is the classic, tried-and-tested way to earn a big chunk of XP at once, and it's something players look forward to every Tuesday when new sets of quests typically drop.

While daily challenges are smaller tasks that you can complete relatively quickly before they reset, weekly challenges often take a bit longer and will require you to grind a little - but the rewards are worth it. They also stack up, so you don't need to worry about missing a week or two.

3. Don't forget about Match Quests

Every time you start a game during the current season of Fortnite, you'll be given a choice between three Match Quests. I usually go with the 'visit location' quests as they're easy, but there's usually a decent variety so you can pick one that suits you best.

You'll get 5,000 XP for each Match Quest you complete, but you'll also get a bonus amount of XP for the first three Match Quests you complete each day. This amounts to a massive 60,000 XP per day, which could be exactly what you need to level up!

4. Play Creative maps

Some of the best Creative maps in Fortnite have the potential to earn a big amount of XP just by playing them and completing objectives, like finishing a Deathrun course or winning a Gun Game round. One of my favourite Creative maps to play with friends is Tilted Zone Wars.

While they certainly aren't as lucrative as they used to be back in the day, playing Creative Maps and trying out other game modes like LEGO Fortnite and Rocket Racing can give you a bit of variety when farming XP.

5. Get a Victory Royale

Perhaps the best way to gain XP and level up fast in Fortnite is to win your match and earn a Victory Royale.

Fighting your way through 99 other players can be a daunting task, but it will pay off in the end and will have you earning an enviable amount of XP. You can check out our tips to win at Fortnite for help with this one.

6. Passive XP tasks

It’s not just shooting and completing quests that will get you XP in Fortnite, as sometimes completing simple passive tasks can be exactly what you need to reach the next level. Here are some of them:

  • Opening Chests
  • Opening Ammo Boxes
  • Speaking to characters
  • Fishing
  • Surviving a Storm Circle
  • Uncovering parts of the map at the beginning of a new season

While it may not seem like much, these simple objectives can gradually build up your pool of XP and, before you know it, you’ll be seeing your total score rack up at the end of a hard-fought match.

7. Make the most of Party Assist

Fortnite is always more fun with friends, whether that's online or via split-screen. It can also help you level up faster, as the Party Assist feature shares progress in certain challenges and quests between you and your fellow party members.

Ultimately, this means that you’ll be completing quests faster and, in turn, earning that sweet XP faster too!

How to get Supercharged XP in Fortnite

You may have noticed that on occasion, your XP is Supercharged in Fortnite. Supercharged XP is a passive mechanic that activates when you don’t regularly complete your daily and weekly challenges.

Supercharged XP essentially acts as a catch-up mechanic if, for example, you haven’t had the chance to play for a little while, or if you’re just starting your time in Fortnite. So, while it lasts, make the most of the XP boost and use the Supercharge as much as possible.
