HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Darth Vader is found on an island at the top of the map, north of Lavish Lair
  • He's guarded by two Stormtroopers

Darth Vader is back in Fortnite as the Star Wars May 4th celebrations are well underway. Upon defeating this Sith Lord, you’ll be rewarded with his Mythic Red Lightsaber melee weapon, which is fantastic if you want to get the upper hand in close-quarters fights.

Vader isn’t marked on the game's map, but once you know where to look for him, his location is incredibly obvious. Just don’t approach him without the appropriate weapons to defend yourself!

Darth Vader is located on the northernmost island on the map, just north of Lavish Lair. When looking at the map from the Battle Bus, look out for an ominous red flare emanating from the island - this is Darth Vader’s Lightsaber.

Once you arrive at the location, you’ll find an Imperial Shuttle surrounded by a small camp, with tents that hold chests of Star Wars weapons. Vader is guarded by two Storm Troopers, although their aim is just as awful as the reputation that precedes them. Nevertheless, I recommend taking them out first.

Next is the task of taking down Vader. He has 600 shield points and 600 health points, so he’s fairly tanky. He can also deflect your bullets with his Lightsaber, so bring plenty of ammo. I found that the best technique to defeating him is to keep your distance and fire at him with long-range weapons.

You’ll need to watch out for his force-pull attacks, as he’ll regularly pull you in from afar. He might also force jump towards you, so just make sure you continue to keep your distance as his melee attacks hit hard.

When you do defeat Vader, he’ll drop his famous Lightsaber, and you’ll be able to use it for the rest of that match. It deals lethal damage up close, so it’s super handy to have if you’re going for a Battle Royale!
