Redfall character list: All heroes and abilities
Redfall's characters will each have their own unique playstyles to experiment with, so here's a list of each hero and their abilities to help you pick who to play once Redfall's release day arrives.
As with many games that feature multiple characters, each of Redfall's hero abilities will likely play a major role in the success of the latest game from Arkane. Each character possesses three unique abilities in total - one of which is an Ultimate ability - that define how they'll play, so it'll be crucial to pick a hero that best relates to you. With that being said, let’s dive into all of the characters in Redfall as we approach release soon.

How many playable heroes are in Redfall?
In total, there are 4 playable characters to choose from in Redfall. These characters will have their own abilities, dialogue and backstory for players to enjoy.
The four characters that will appear in the game are:
- Devinder Crousley
- Jacob Boyer
- Layla Ellison
- Remi De La Rosa
That's not all, though, as two additional characters are also coming to Redfall later on in the game’s lifecycle for those who have either the Season Pass or the Bite Back Edition of the game.
Details on these characters are yet to be revealed, but we'll be sure to update you right here as we learn more.
Layla Ellison hero abilities in Redfall
Click to enlargeLayla Ellision's abilities are built on the foundation of her telekinetic powers. Receiving her powers through a medical trial that went wrong, this has left the biomedical engineering student pretty prepared for a vampire invasion. Her abilities are as follows:

| Lift | Allows players to summon a Telekinetic lift to climb up to high places, rooftops and terrain obstacles. |
| Umbrella |
Telekinetic Skill that shields Layla and her team from incoming projectiles. Using the psychic umbrella shield skill, Layla can create a protective shield in front of her that blocks incoming damage. After she can reforge the forcefield, sending it back at her opponents as projectiles. |
| Summon Vampire Ex-Boyfriend | Layla’s Ultimate ability summons a powerful companion to help Layla in combat. |
Jacob Boyer hero abilities in Redfall
Click to enlargeIf you want to play Redfall while keeping your distance from enemies, Jacob Boyer looks to be the best pick for you. Jacob was a sharpshooter in the military that has turned to being a private contractor. He will focus on guns, scouting and shooting from a distance, but also has a psychic raven to help him out on the battlefield.

| Cloak | Summons a spectral raven, which can be used as a scout to seek out and mark nearby threats. |

Summons a cloaking device that allows you to move unseen. |
| Heartstopper | Jacob’s Ultimate ability sees him summon a ghostly sniper rifle that locks onto enemies one after the other, allowing the player to chain headshots. |
Devinder Crousley hero abilities in Redfall
Click to enlargeDevinder is an inventor and cryptozoologist hero who uses these inventions to help him against the vampire problem in Redfall. As a cryptozoologist so he has been preparing for this for a while. Here are all of his abilities:
| Ability | Description |
| Arc Javelin | Devinder throws a javelin in an arc that will attach to surfaces. A side effect of this is it will cause a chain of lightning across enemies. |
| Translocate |
Another one of Devinder’s inventions that allows him to teleport to the location of this device after it is thrown. |
| Backlight | Devinder’s Ultimate ability has him throwing down a UV blacklight, stunning all enemies in its path. |
Remi De La Rosa hero abilities
Click to enlargeRemi De La Rosa is a robotics expert and engineer, who uses her robot companion in Redfall to help in battle as well as explosives to give her an edge in Redfall.

| C4 Charge | Remi throws a C4 that will stick to a surface until it explodes. |
| Mobilize |
This ability heals (and revives) anyone close enough to the healing point that Remi drops. |
| Siren | Remi’s Ultimate ability uses a robot companion to distract enemies, making them vulnerable to attacks. |
