There are multiple different ways to play Minecraft Legends. While you can play the whole story of Minecraft Legends in a single-player campaign mode, it’s also possible to team up with friends in co-op, or go against them in PvP.

Co-op gameplay in Minecraft Legends is a drop-in and drop-out experience. This means that friends can join and leave your game as they wish, building up structures and commanding units. This works towards the shared goals of the host player.

However, you can also load into a competitive multiplayer mode in Minecraft Legends. This sees up to two teams of four players go against each other as they fight to build up resources, structures, and armies before butting heads.

Whether you prefer to play collaboratively or aggressively with your friends, there’s a playstyle for you in Minecraft Legends.

Of course, the real question is whether you can play these Minecraft Legends multiplayer modes in split-screen. Sadly, the answer is no - Minecraft Legends does not support split-screen play in either PvP or co-op gameplay modes.

This is a real shame, as plenty of console Minecraft fans are used to playing the popular game in a split-screen format. Sadly, it seems like there are no plans to add a split-screen mode to Minecraft Legends after launch, either. The strategy style of gameplay just doesn’t lend itself well to split-screen play.
