Hogwarts Legacy has got some wonderfully engaging combat mechanics at its disposal, from stealth and breaking shields to various hard-hitting combinations. Arguably one of the most fun though, is absolutely destroying your opponent with a powerful finishing move. That's if you know how to perform one anyway. Let's get into this finishing move Hogwarts Legacy how-to guide.

We’d implore you to read our explainer of the controversy so far, and consider supporting trans rights charities where possible.

In order to perform a Hogwarts Legacy finishing move, you'll first need to fill its metre. You'll notice the two-bar blue metre in the bottom right-hand corner above your health bar. To perform a finisher, you'll need to fill one bar of the meter by performing attacks and combos.

Once filled to the required amount, you'll see the L1 + R1 prompt (LB + RB on Xbox/ X on PC) one at a time above applicable targets depending on which is closest to your centre view. Press L1 and R1 at the same time whilst the prompt is above your desired target, and you'll perform the finishing move - mercilessly slamming your enemy up and down into the ground until their HP is no more.

That's all you need to know in this finishing move Hogwarts Legacy how-to guide.
