Does Hogwarts Legacy Run On Steam Deck?

Yes, Hogwarts Legacy does run on Steam Deck. Along with WB Games Support confirming over Twitter before the game's release, Hogwarts Legacy is officially verified for Steam Deck compatibility on its respective Steam game page.

However, whilst the Steam Deck does meet Hogwarts Legacy's minimum PC specs, you might need to make some caveats in your graphics settings to make it run properly. Hogwarts Legacy has various graphics modes with nice touches like a Fidelity Mode with ray-tracing or an up to 60FPS Performance Mode.

On Steam Deck though, you might find you need to make a compromise - exchanging visuals for stability. For instance, whilst native resolution and a higher framerate are technically feasible, you can limit your framerate to 30FPS or lower your resolution to 720p to ensure stable performance. 

A way to boost the framerate is by turning on the Steam Deck's AMD FSR 2. A temporal upscaling technology, AMD FSR 2 effectively increases your framerate at the cost of lowering your resolution. With many of Hogwarts Legacy's gameplay elements where frequent movement is a factor - like flying and fast-paced combat - a higher framerate is a recommended priority to get the most out of the game.
