We're in the endgame now, and as we squad up for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the next entry in Rocksteady Studios' acclaimed Arkhamverse is cocking its pistols. While we once hoped for an Arkham Knight sequel, and heard about a rumoured Superman outing, Kill the Justice League is a very different beast.

Although Warner Bros. has been trying to get a Suicide Squad game off the ground since 2010, Kill the Justice League wasn't announced until 2020. Given Rocksteady's work on the Arkham trilogy, it's the perfect studio to put Task Force X through its paces. Still, the looter shooter has been marred with controversy.

Kill the Justice League is delayed...but only for some

We'll be honest, we've lost count of the number of Kill the Justice League delays there have been, although we're thankfully not in a Cyberpunk 2077 situation yet. Originally delayed from 2022 to March 2023, the game was shunted again to February 2, 2024. We're close, but we aren't there yet.

Sadly, anyone wanting to play Kill the Justice League on the Epic Games Store will have to wait until March 5. Writing on the KTJL Discord, one WB Games Community Manager announced the news and confirmed that pre-orders would be cancelled - refunding customers directly.

The title's Epic Games Store listing now reads March 5, although things are still on track for February 2 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Steam. There's no news on why only the Epic Games Store is being hit with a delay, but at least you've been warned ahead of time.

Expect a lot more from Kill the Justice League

The plus side of Kill the Justice League being a live service game is that a beefy roadmap is presumably included. We've already heard about a potential DLC addition, while other characters have been crawling out of the woodwork. The recent leaks have teased several new modes, proving it's not just Christmas-themed outfits on the way.

The previous Arkham games had some post-release content, with Batgirl and Harley Quinn DLCs adding more to the story. Still, with the gaming landscape having changed so much since 2015, we're expecting even more from Kill the Justice League. It all sounds promising, but sadly, plenty of leaks have spoiled the surprise ahead of time.

2024 is looking just as packed as 2023, but up there with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Hades 2, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is one of 2024's most-anticipated releases. Let's hope Rocksteady can stick the landing and deliver another entry worthy of the Arkhamverse.
