Amanda Waller's finger is on the trigger and Warner Bros. Interactive could be ready to blow the head off Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. It's been nine years since Rocksteady Studios' last game, and while Arkham Knight wasn't the developer's best, it's being seen in a new light since KTJL launched.

Instead of giving us a full-blown Arkham sequel, Rocksteady tried to do something different and delivered a new type of game that focused on the titular Suicide Squad. While there was plenty of promise, fans have turned away in their droves thanks to swapping the Arkham formula for a Destiny-inspired looter shooter.

PlayStation is offering Kill the Justice League refunds

Aside from bugs and glitches, Kill the Justice League has faced bigger problems from a tumbling player count and confirmation it 'fell short' of expectations. The upcoming roadmap of post-release DLCs hopes to reinvigorate the title's wavering support, but now, Rocksteady faces another roadblock.

We're getting some concerning déjà vu, as PlayStation is reportedly repeating the Cyberpunk 2077 disaster and is refunding copies of Kill the Justice League. Rocksteady said it was "investigating" a myriad of bugs, but after a month of relative silence, some fans have had enough.

Apparently, PlayStation is refunding Kill the Justice League because it can't be used. Others have reported that their requests have been denied, while Xbox users are also campaigning for refunds without much luck. Still, if even one refund goes through, it could start a worrying snowball effect.

Players are worried about Kill the Justice League's DLC roadmap

Rocksteady has tried to remain positive, hyping the upcoming release of Season 1. Bringing an Elseworlds version of Joker into the team, Season 1's March 28 launch could be the new lease of life Kill the Justice League needs. With a stacked roadmap including everyone from Mr. Freeze to Deathstroke, a lot is riding on the first season's success.

Unfortunately, the issues are stacking up and many think the end is nigh for Kill the Justice League. When Rocksteady announced Season 1's release date, it was soon swallowed by a sea of negative comments. One sceptic wrote, "28th is make or break imo. I do feel the dlc should be dropped earlier, but fingers crossed it helps the game."

Someone lamented the Season 1 delay and said, "I’m convinced the team behind this throws darts on a board when making decisions about this game 😭…the 28th…," while a third said, "With 500 people playing and thousands unable to even log in for over a month now...yeah you handful of ppl enjoy it 🤣."

Rocksteady promised many years of content, but it remains to be seen whether we'll see KTJL through to the end. At least Rocksteady has several open job listings, including a Lead UI Artist and mention of a Senior Physics Programmer helping "expand Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and everything beyond."

How long Rocksteady sticks with Kill the Justice League or whether it cuts its losses and gives us the Arkham Knight sequel we've always been campaigning for is up in the air. We'll give Season 1 a go, but let's hope it's not the last one.
