A Minecraft player has spent three years building an American city - and it's almost unbelievable.
U/the_balazs uploaded several images of their work onto Reddit, and it has (predictably) become very popular. In fact, it's been upvoted 11k at the time of writing. Not to mention the hoards of Reddit gold and other awards that have been bestowed upon them.
Judging by their comments to others on the thread, the project took almost three years, has a World download, has been uploaded to Planet Minecraft, and was based on Chicago and New York. Seriously, looking at the images you can't even begin to imagine how much blood, sweat, and tears has gone into it.
One user commented: "At first I was wondering why you posted a picture of New York".
What's included in the Minecraft city?
The aptly-named 'North American Metropolis Project' features skyscrapers, boats, suspension bridges, car parks, helicopter landing pads, a beach, and even a full funfair. Meanwhile, I can't even figure out how to make a house.
Can you walk into the buildings?
You sure can. When asked if it was built to player scale and if you can walk around the top floors of the skyscrapers, the creator replied: "Yes it is player scaled and every building has floors".
Can I visit the Minecraft city?
Yes! It's featured on Planet Minecraft.
Where is the city based on?
The description on Planet Minecraft reads: "The city is mostly based on New York and Chicago, but most of the buildings are fictional.
"The city is a huge metropolis which is located in the East Coast of the United States in Delaware. Tranton is the third biggest city in the US after New York and Los Angeles and it quite close to Philadelphia. This city is famous for its architecture and skyscrapers, especially the old art deco ones. In the 1920s Tranton was taking part in the big skyscraper race, but New York won with the Empire State Building. This city appears in many movies and its most famous role is Metropolis in a DC movie."
