Potential bad news for Metro Boomin fans who are looking forward to his next album, gaming might have gotten in the way. The Metro/Pluto album that was promised earlier this year has an important hurdle for the producer to clear first: Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

How long must we wait for this new collaboration between Metro and Future? Well, how long does it take to beat Spider-Man 2?

Some things come first

The influential hip-hop producer took to social media recently to inform his patiently waiting fans that the album cannot be finished until he gets through Insomniac's latest (and greatest) outing in the Spider-verse.

This news horrified many fans, desperate to hear the new album from the producer of the Across the Spider-Verse soundtrack. Some were quick to claim that side missions don't count, while others questioned whether Metro intends to play the game all the way to 100% completion.

The final nail in the coffin for the album came when a fan asked what percentage of completion the award-winning producer had reached so far, to which Metro responded with the post below:

Silver linings

It seems likely that Metro is joking with his fans, although that does little to suggest when the album might come out. Regardless of whether he finishes Spider-Man 2 first or not, we cannot yet say how long fans really will have to wait for the Metro Pluto album.

On the upside, all of this talk of playing the game prompted one fan to suggest that Metro stream his playthrough, probably so the fans can see for themselves just how long they will have to wait for the new album.

If nothing else, Metro Boomin fans might be able to watch him stream his playthrough while they eagerly await new music. Let's just hope he doesn't get sidetracked looking for all 42 of those Spider-Bots.
