Rockstar Games is revving its engine on the next Grand Theft Auto, and while the automotive adventure still needs a little more time in the body shop, we're (hopefully) racing toward a 2025 release. Now, a wild GTA 6 rumour claims a blast from the past will be stopping by in the next game.

GTA 6 is poised to be the biggest game of all time in terms of financials and scope, so there should be plenty of room to honour the franchise's past. Dipping into the impressive library of GTA games, there are rumours that GTA IV's Niko Bellic could be returning to his life of crime.

Wild GTA 6 rumour claims Niko Bellic is in GTA 6

According to supposed GTA 6 leaker @JasonFromGTASix, their 'sources' have told them Niko will have a cameo in the game. If we take this as gospel, the leaker claims that voice actor Michael Hollick will reprise his role as the GTA IV protagonist but will only appear in a minor capacity.

As with all things GTA 6, we'll take this with a pinch of salt, and after the rumour appeared on the GTA subreddit, it was quickly pulled apart as the ultimate "trust me bro." If there had been some hint of Niko in the GTA 6 trailer or anything from that deluge of Rockstar leaks, then maybe we'd be a little more receptive.

Mocking the supposed leaks, one critic chuckled, "Source: It came to me in a dream." Another added, "'According to leaks from an inside source.' Yeah, his f*****g a**," and a third laughed, "Bro it’s from JasonfromGTAsix… I think he would know, he’s in the game." Sorry gang, we're not buying this one.

Of course, Hollick reprising his role as Niko isn't the only GTA alumni tipped for the mean streets of a modern Vice City. GTA V's trio of Ned Luke (Michael), Shawn Fonteno (Franklin), and Steven Ogg (Trevor) have all been rumoured for some role in the next chapter.

Given that the three are held as some of the franchise's best protagonists, it makes a lot of sense - especially for Ogg as the fan-favourite Trevor Philips. Fonteno has continued teasing a return, and Ogg has downplayed the idea, while Luke has been the most vocal on the situation.

As well as ogling the trailer's "big a**es," Luke has slammed 'clowns' complaining the franchise has gone 'woke.' He's known for responding to fan calls for him to play Michael De Santa again, and while it's far from confirmation, we're more than ready for some familiar faces to give Lucia a run for her money.
