We've finally got a peek at Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse from Sony Pictures Animation - the team behind the earth-shatteringly good Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Thankfully, it looks like we're in for yet another treat.

The first film made an incredible impact on the world of animation, proving films with an animation style that breaks the status quo can be revolutionary. The new film carries on this tradition, as it brings to life the complex multiverse of Spider-Men from across media we know... and don't.

Included in this multiverse of media for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse are the video games we've grown up with, as well as the video games we've only recently fallen in love with.

Is PS4 Spider-Man In Across The Spider-Verse?

As if the smashing of worlds in Spider-Man: No Way Home wasn't enough, the latest trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has shared a look at some recognisable Spideys, including the one that stars in the PS4's iconic game Marvel's Spider-Man.

The trailer reveals a giant twisting corridor of gravity-defying walkways that contain swathes of Spider-People. Eagle-eyed fans have spotted the Spider-Man from the PS4 game, who is walking down one corridor speaking with another Spider-Man.

We hoped that the potential of the Spider-Verse itself meant the new film would be packed to the brim with Spider-Man cameos, so it's great to see this version of the wall-crawler show up. But, that's not the only video game Spider-Man to appear.

PS1 Spider-Man Is Hidden In Across The Spider-Verse's Trailer

The PlayStation's Spider-Man offerings are clearly all over the new Spider-Verse adventure, as more fans have pointed out the presence of a certain janky Spider-Man.

If you were looking closely, you'd spot the pixelated power of the PS1's Spider-Man game. He's seen running across the screen with his hilariously strange running animation from the game.

We should have expected the attention to detail from Sony Pictures Animation, but it looks like they've come through once again with some equally weird and brilliant cameos and moments. Roll on 2023.
