If you're wondering where Linus' basket is in Stardew Valley, then you've come to the right place. Linus is a villager in Stardew Valley who is something of a hermit; he chooses to live in a tent away from the other villagers and only survives off food he has foraged or fished himself. You often receive quests from characters in your first year, and completing them raises the heart meter with the NPC who gave you the quest. On Fall 8 of your first year, Linus will send you on a quest to find his missing blackberry basket. But where is Linus' basket in Stardew Valley? Here's what you need to know.

This can be a tricky quest for some players as the location of the basket is somewhat hidden and it's easy to spend ages looking for it without finding it, because it's in a location you'll very rarely encounter naturally.

Walk up to the bus stop then follow the road left. This will lead to another section of the road with a tunnel. The basket might be hard to spot initially as it blends in with the Fall colours, but it will be located to the far left just before the tunnel entrance. You can also see it from the path that goes over the tunnel, though you can't get down to the basket from this spot.

Linus spends most of his days either near his tent (located north of Robin’s Carpenter’s Shop) or fishing by the mountain lake near the mines. He sometimes spends his afternoons in the Spa, near the train station in the northern most part of the map.

  • The Spa can slowly recover your character’s stamina. To find the rare Stardrops which permanently increase stamina, read our Stardew Valley Fair guide.

Once you have collected the basket, interact with Linus and he will automatically retrieve it from you. You’ll gain one heart from him on the relationship meter in doing so. Unlocking hearts with Linus will lead to unique heart events in which the player can learn more about this mysterious hermit, and why he chooses to live separated from society.

Linus is also a useful character to befriend as he will gift the player with the recipes for Sashimi at three hearts, and Fish Taco at seven hearts. (Useful if you want to complete the cooking achievement).

Did you know that Sashimi is one of Sebastian’s loved gifts? To find out more, and how to best befriend him and unlock his heart events, read our Stardew Valley Sebastian guide.
