Grannies Cookbook is a mod by Littlbowbub for The Sims 4 that introduces plenty of additional baking and cooking recipes into your Sims' lives once downloaded. Without this mod, in The Sims 4, new recipes are unlocked as you progress a Sims' Cooking and Baking skills, or by trying new recipes out in the world, such as at Festivals featured in The Sims 4: City Living.

With this mod, though, The Grannies Cookbook mod expands upon this, implementing an interactive cookbook (available in multiple swatches to fit your Sims' home) that contains creative comfort meals in the game, resembling foods typically associated with homestyle, generational cooking, among others. To learn how to download the Grannies Cookbook mod in The Sims 4, and which recipes it includes, read on.

To download the Grannies Cookbook mod, you'll need to head over to Littlbowbub's Patreon page here, and download the latest version, 01.05. Here, they offer new updates for free, along with additional recipes to add to your game.

The mod comes with the base cookbook, the recipes will need to be downloaded individually through Littlbowbub's blog page. This means you can pick and choose which recipes appeal to you and download them accordingly.

How to install Grannies Cookbook

The process of installing Grannies Cookbook follows the same format as downloading other mods in The Sims 4, as follows:

  • Simply copy them from your Downloads folder (extract if needed) and paste the files into your Mod folder, which are located in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods.

NOTE: Take care when downloading mods that are not supported by Maxis, and always ensure to back up your save prior to installing them.

Having installed the mod, Grannies Cookbook can be found in The Sims 4's Build/Buy catalogue. Here, it's listed under the same name and costs just 45 Simoleons. Once bought, the book acts like a journal and can be both named and placed in a Sim's inventory.

If you have downloaded the additional recipes, you can then place the book on a counter and click on it to navigate to the recipes menu - similar to clicking on a fridge or oven. As you progress through the Cooking skill, the recipes you've downloaded will unlocks.
