If you want to start upgrading furniture in your house in The Sims 4, then you will need to upgrade parts. If you’re unsure of how to use them, we will tell you everything you need to know about how to use them as well as how to obtain them in the game so that you can start upgrading your furniture to a higher quality. 

The Sims 4 has plenty of careers that can benefit from handiness skills, and it will benefit your sim if you want them to upgrade items in the household. This allows them to upgrade items without the risk of being electrocuted or worse. 

Here is how you can get your hands on Upgrade Parts to start giving your furniture better features in the game.

How to get Upgrade Parts in The Sims 4

To get Upgrade Parts, you can simply purchase them. 

  • Go to a computer
  • Select "Order"
  • Select "Purchase Upgrade Parts"
  • From there, you can order any upgrade part you may need

If you find yourself needing to upgrade your handiness skills, you can either read a book to level up the skill or have your sim take on woodworking to level up the skill. 

How to get Upgrade Parts via cheats

As with most things in the Sims 4, you can obtain Upgrade Parts via a cheat. Here is what you have to do in order to get them.

  • Use Shift + Ctrl + C or Shift + Command + C (for Mac users)
  • Type in the box “testingcheats true
  • Press enter
  • Type in “bb.showhidden objects
  • You can then scroll through the catalogue and pick the parts that you want to use
