Learning how to hire a Ranch Hand in The Sims 4 Horse Ranch will help you become more productive on the ranch and save you time looking after all the animals you own.

Ranch Hands in The Sims 4 Horse Ranch are workers you can hire to help look after your animals, keeping them fed and happy and leaving you free to explore the new neighborhoods of Chestnut Ridge to your heart's content.

To learn more about Ranch Hands in The Sims 4 Horse Ranch and how to hire one for your lot in the game, read below.

Where can you get a Ranch Hand?

As seen from the Horse Ranch preview livestream, to hire a Ranch Hand in The Sims 4 Horse Ranch, you simply must choose the option to do so when clicking on a Community Board.

You can also hire a Ranch Hand via the 'Hire a Service' option from your Sims's phone. A Ranch Hand costs a flat fee of $100 plus an additional $12 per hour you have them on your ranch.

Other than hiring a Ranch Hand, a Community Board has a host of other features, including:

  • Enter a competition
  • Learn about the residents of Chestnut Ridge
  • Plan a Ranch Event – there are two new events with this pack, the Ranch Gathering and Ranch Animal Day events where you can show off your ranch, animals, and party with other Sims for prizes
  • Horse Training
  • Call Ranch Animal Exchange – this is where you can adopt old horses or buy new ones along with mini-goats, and mini-sheep
  • Ranch Animal Info – this is a feature you can select to learn more about the new animals introduced in the pack and how to care for them
  • Community Jobs

Whilst there is likely to be a Community Board within each of the main neighbourhoods in Chestnut Ridge, if you're struggling to locate one on your trail you can buy a Community Board from the build and buy catalogue. This means you can simply place one on your lot directly.

What does a Ranch Hand do?

A Ranch Hand can be a useful help in The Sims 4 Horse Ranch if you wish to explore other areas of the pack without the worry of your animals suffering back on your lot.

Ranch Hands perform in a similar way to nannies in the game. They do not join your household but can be hired to look after your animals and make sure they are fed, clean and happy whilst you're busy or away from home.

As seen from The Sims 4 Horse Ranch preview livestream, other than feeding horses and cleaning the beds within horse stalls, Ranch Hands can also help fix broken appliances and furniture on your lots. They can also help take care of plants (horse manure can be turned into fertilizer).
