Click to enlargeThe biggest selling point of Battlefield 2042 Dozer is his Ballistic Shield, which allows Dozer to deflect incoming small arms fire. Small arms only really excludes larger weaponry such as the Recoilless M5 and fire from larger vehicles. To help against this kind of fire however, is the Blast Resistance perk, which reduces explosive damage effects. Together this makes Dozer one of the hardier specialists of Battlefield 2042.

Click to enlargeThe perfect use of your Ballistic Shield is to push on the enemy, so you'll want to pick up something that is fast and allows for you to swap away your shield quickly. In that case we'd recommend an SMG, which you can split between the K30 for maximum power at short-range or the PP-29, which is a better all-rounder. Partnering this the MP28, which allows you to quickly spam the trigger with this staple pistol. If you are acting as the pusher of the team then the Insertion Beacon is a great way to advance at speed. However, waiting for the right moment to pop out of your shield can make the Recoilless M5 a great offensive choice as well. Another great strategy against vehicles or defensive turrets for Battlefield 2042 Dozer is the EMP Grenade.

Click to enlargeBattlefield 2042 Dozer's biggest strength is getting in close with the enemy. At every opportunity you should be utilising your Ballistic Shield, whether that be running across an open field, or using it to quickly scope out an area. Much like Irish's DC-2 Deployable Cover, the Ballistic Shield allows you to see your enemies while protected. This is a great strategic option, especially in those longer and narrow corridors.
However, first and foremost Dozer should be used as a means of pushing the enemy team. While it may be slow, you can crouch and be near-completely covered in whichever direction you face. You can run, however this does expose your legs, so when the bullets start to ping off you, maybe quickly crouch to gain back health. Tucking yourself into cover, you can plant that Insertion Beacon to help close the gap between you and the objective.
As mentioned with the loadout, bringing gadgets and throwables like the EMP Grenade and Recoilless M5, mean you can get right in on enemy defenses and destroy them. It is still very possible to be shot from the sides, so sometimes using the shield to quickly get into cover is your best option. The shield will not protect you from large cannon fire from tanks or missiles from helicopters, so you still have to be tactical when dealing with either of those.
