The Battlefield 2042 Boris specialist loves his turrets, as should anyone that likes to wrack up kills. Battlefield 2042 is enormous, making enemy detection rather difficult from time to time. While it might not be immediately obvious, Boris is one of the best picks in the game to ensure you have your enemies lined up in your sights. Here's everything you need to know about Battlefield 2042 Boris, including his abilities, loadout, and some tips.

Check out some of the other specialists that Battlefield 2042 has to offer:

Battlefield 2042 Boris is an Engineer, meaning he has a great focus on defending and fortifying areas. This really comes to live thanks to Boris' SG-36 Sentry Gun. This will engage nearby hostels, however, it has the added benefit of spotting them too, meaning that if the turret doesn't finish off the job, the enemy will be easy enough to pick off. Boris also dons a passive ability that sees sentry guns become more effective, if you are near. This can only spell bad news for the enemy team, especially if a couple of players have thrown down their own sentry guns.

The Battlefield 2042 Boris specialist along with his sentry gun are great suppressors, and there is no better gun-type to take on that role than an LMG. At launch, there are only two LMGs in the game, both the LCMG and the classic PKP-BP. While the PKP-BP holds more firepower, it loses a lot of its handling and speed perks. As a result, we'd recommend going for the LCMG, which will be available from your first match, compared with the PKP-BP's level 32 unlock.

For an LMG, you may want to equip an Ammo Crate for your Gadget. However, with over 120 players in current-gen matches, there will likely be the odd Angel specialist, who can resupply you. In that case, we'd go for the Recoilless M5, as it allows you to do some damage to pesky vehicles that are going to be ruining your top-notch LMG positions. The best of the throwables for this loadout is the basic frag grenade, which can be sent soaring some distance.

Battlefield 2042 Boris works best when combining his loadout with his abilities. As mentioned, Boris' SG-36 Sentry Gun can mark nearby targets. If you and your team are pinned down, or are stuck around a corner, plop the sentry gun down and if they aren't killed by the sentry itself, you can move in to finish the job. Sometimes the sentry is best used solely as an enemy scanner. With so much going on in any of its matches, it can be difficult to separate the scattering buildings from the firing enemies. The SG-36 solves this. What's even better is that you'll benefit by staying alongside your turrets, effectively amping up your own personal scanner. With a handy LMG by your side, you can keep firing as enemies are highlighted across the battlefield, and even use your sentry as a means of cover while you reload. That sounds like a win-win right there.

That's all you need to know about the Battlefield 2042 Boris specialist. You can take a look across all of the Battlefield 2042 Specialists before digging into the specifics.
