Imane "Pokimane" Anys has teared down her haters after she was accused of 'flaunting' her wealth in a viral Twitter post in which she shared a makeup free photo of herself.

For anyone not familiar with the JiDion vs. Pokimane drama, in January 2022, YouTuber JiDion landed himself in hot water with Twitch when he sent a 'hate raid' to Pokimane's stream. He was then hit with a permanent ban from the platform after he and his followers continued to harass her online, including a point when he changed his Twitter profile to one of a makeup-free Pokimane.

However, the pair appear to have made-up and Pokimane even gave a middle finger up to her haters by reposting her fresh-faced photo on her Twitter page. However, some of her fans felt she could have chosen her words better when writing her caption.

What Were People Saying About Pokimane's No-Makeup Selfie?

On February 15, Pokimane unexpectedly reposted a makeup free picture of herself which JiDion had previously used to harass her on Twitter. The tweet was seen as a major power move against her haters by her fans and even went viral with 346.5K likes, as of writing. There were some typical trolls, such as Daniel "Keemstar" Keem, who took the opportunity to make some upsetting comments about her appearance, but on the whole, Pokimane was met with a wave of support from fans who celebrated her natural looks.

However, some Twitters took issue with her caption alongside the image in which Pokimane said: "This face makes more money than you'll ever see in your life." For some, it appeared as though Pokimane was "flexing" her wealth which one user claimed was "lowkey strange". Another user, who called the caption "an ugly statement" said: "I know I don't have the following you do but I've learned in my time that saying things like this just increases the abuse from trolls, and gives passerbys the impression of a massive ego and / or insecurities."

However, Pokimane's followers quickly jumped to her support as usual to state that the 25-year-old wasn't trying to throw digs at anyone's financial situation. Rather that "her tweet was directed at the people who attack her using said picture, not just literally everyone on twitter."

How Did Pokimane React To The Hate From Her Makeup-Free Selfie?

Following the backlash, Pokimane added a short comment to the Tweet claiming that JiDion "dared" her to post the image. Then, in a highly-anticipated YouTube video, in which the duo explained all about their feud, JiDion is indeed shown encouraging Pokimane to repost the image with the caption: "This face makes more money than you will ever see in your life."

So, Pokimane decided to address the criticism during her livestream on February 17 in which she claimed that because the tweet went viral "it maybe reached an audience that does not know the context at all", including the fact JiDion dared her to do it.

However, she wasn't afraid to throw the hate right back at their faces saying "I hope you get this mad at multi-million conglomerates that take advantage of their workers." Pokimane also clarified that the post was directed at her haters who try to "discredit her achievements, via the way she looks without makeup."

As one of the world's most-popular streamers, Pokimane has had a great wave of support over her career from her fans, but she's also had her fill of haters. However, she always knows the best way to clap-back at them.
