You've got to shoot your shot. In the wise words of Martin Tyler, "If you don't buy a ticket, you'll never win the raffle."
In the case of Darren "iShowSpeed" Watkins though, the famed YouTuber has his boots strapped on and is shooting in some wild places, and he might just have found the top corner.
Whilst playing EA FC 24 in the streamer-only early access period, Speed packed a "cute" Ultimate Team card, and took to firing off a DM, with some incredible success.
iShowSpeed packs 'cute' women's footballer and DMs her
EA FC 24 has integrated women footballers into Ultimate Team for the first time, and while this is groundbreaking for the projection, recognition, and visibility of the women's game, some players have been falling for catfish cards and having their male pride dented by the ratings of said superstars.
Yet someone who is enjoying the female presence is iShowSpeed, who packed Swedish-born Real Madrid left-back Sofie Svava, and instantly saw an attraction.
"Svava you fine as f**k," Speed said, before checking out her Instagram page.
He continued to direct message Svava on Instagram, saying, "I just pulled u in FIFA ur cute can I get ur number?" - who needs literacy? The days of Shakespearean poems have long been besmirched by the social media graft.
iShowSpeed shoots and scores with Women's footballer
Just a mere 20 minutes after Speed slipped into the DMs, Svava replied to the YouTuber, as the love story took another twist, saying, "Sounds good."
Whether or not they will actually link up on a date or just for content is yet to be known, but knowing Speed's new-found adoration for football and attending games, maybe a connection with Svava could be just around the corner.
Speed has also been making waves in the Manchester United women's camp as he was devastated by packing female player Hannah Blundell, whose LB card crosses lines with Luke Shaw, and Blundell took to Twitter to mock the streamers' reaction.
With hope, Speed's love life will end in a much better way than his previous encounters with women online...
