The Casting of Frank Stone is a narrative horror game set in the twisted world(s) of Dead by Daylight. The game is being developed by Supermassive Games, known for Until Dawn, The Dark Picture Anthology, and more recently, The Quarry.

In The Casting of Frank Stone, we will see a new story from outside of the Entity's Realm and try to help a group of hopeful survivors escape the brutal legacy of an infamous serial killer. Here is everything we know about the game so far.

The Casting of Frank Stone story

The Casting of Frank Stone takes place in a town called Cedar Hills. This small Oregon town has a dark past, born from the sadistic actions of one Frank Stone. In the game, a group of locals decide to investigate the steel mill where Stone committed his crimes, only to discover much more than they expected.

Whatever evil went on in the past here has brought supernatural horrors into the world, and the intrepid group of friends will find themselves at the heart of this madness.

Players can expect to learn more about the world and lore of Dead by Daylight, through the rich and often gruesome narrative stylings of Supermassive Games. As such, the fate of these characters is entirely in your hands.

Available platforms

Players can expect to pick up The Casting of Frank Stone at launch on:

  • PlayStation 5
  • Xbox Series X|S
  • Pc via Steam, Windows Store and Epic Games Store

The game is scheduled to arrive at some point in 2024, but we'll update this page once we know more.

While exact gameplay details are light so far, we do know for certain that player decisions will be a core part of the gameplay of The Casting of Frank Stone. This is the bread and butter of Supermassive Games, a cast of characters facing off against supernatural foes, while the player must make decisions that decide their fates and drive the plot forward.

This very much seems to be the case here, as the developer has made it clear that player decisions will "shape the story and impact the fate of the characters within it."

That is all we have so far on The Casting of Frank Stone. For more, head to our Dead by Daylight homepage where you can find guides for Survivors, Killers, how best to play as Chucky, and how to play against him.
