Playing against a good Chucky player in Dead by Daylight can be a daunting thing indeed, so learning how to counter his Perks and Power in the game is going to help you and your teammates out massively.

Chucky is among the higher-tier Killers in DbD, with a Power that can be difficult to navigate, but thankfully there are a few ways you can stop yourself from getting hooked if you’re having bad luck with the Chuck.

Best ways to counter Chucky’s Power in Dead by Daylight

There are several ways for you to counter Chucky’s Power in Dead by Daylight through the use of Perks and general tips for recognising his Power.

Sharp Corners

When using his Slice & Dice Power, Chucky can charge quickly at Survivors. However, his turning is quite difficult, meaning if you find a tight corner in a loop or the area you’re running to, it raises your chances of him missing and giving you a few extra precious seconds to escape during his cooldown.

Any Means Necessary

Yui Kimura’s Perk, Any Means Necessary, is one of the best Survivor Perks in DbD and can be used to cancel out an entire part of Chucky’s Power. The Perk lets Survivors lift Pallets that have been thrown and not been broken by the Killer, allowing them to be used again, as shown below.

As part of his Hidey-Ho Mode, Chucky can Scamper under thrown Pallets. However, if they’re in the process of being reset by Any Means Necessary, Chucky can’t go under it. So, a canny Survivor can force Chucky to break it, meaning his Power is likely to run out, giving you an advantage during a chase.

Fake Footfalls

A passive part of Chucky’s Power is the map-wide Footfalls that appear. These can give the impression that Chucky is close by and about to strike. However, the best way to counter this is to keep an ear out for his laughing. While he may be stealthy and Undetectable, he can’t help himself and giggles with murderous glee while in his power.

Additionally, keep an eye on the Survivor portraits on the left of the screen. If you’re seeing the Footfalls while someone is being chased, it’s likely that Chucky isn’t nearby to Slice & Dice you.

Chucky has three unique Perks, like Batteries Included above, that are some of the best Killer Perks in Dead by Daylight, but each of them can be countered in unique ways.

Batteries Included

Can be deactivated once all Generators have been repaired, so focusing on your objective and bringing toolboxes to speed up the process will deactivate it quicker.

Friends ‘til the End

Hiding in a locker will disguise your aura and staying far away from the Killer will make it difficult for them to keep track of you while you wait out the Exposed effect.

Hex: Two Can Play

Destroying the Hex Totem while it is active and pre-throwing Pallets will help prevent you from being blinded after stunning the Killer.

That’s everything you need to take on Chucky in Dead by Daylight. But, there are plenty of other Killers out there vying for your blood, like The Xenomorph or The Demogorgon – so learning how to play as them may just save you.
