In a realm of bloodied hooks and blood-curdling screams, Dead by Daylight still manages to get a few laughs, especially with its new April Fools modifier, My Little Oni, that will strike terror into the hearts of its  tiny Survivors.

Like the Lights Out modifier that emerged after Alan Wake’s introduction to the game, the My Little Oni event will be a limited-time experience that will act separately from the main game and yield some unique rewards.

What is the My Little Oni event in Dead by Daylight?

My Little Oni is a modifier that changes various elements of the core Dead by Daylight game, namely, increasing the size of The Oni and reducing the size of the Survivors (have mercy for the poor baby Dwights). The Oni is one of the most fearsome Killers in DbD, so this is a terrifying prospect to be sure.

During this event, the Kaiju-sized Oni is the only Killer you'll be able to play as, as he stomps around the map hunting for his terrified prey. However, due to the small and frail size of the Survivors, he won't be able to hook them. No, instead he'll be able to Mori them from the get-go.

So, if you're playing as a Survivor fighting for their lives, the goal is simple: repair the Generators, escape and try to avoid The Oni's bloodthirsty Mori.

My Little Oni event dates

The My Little Oni modifier will be available from April 1st at 9:00 am EDT until April 3rd at 9:00 am EDT, meaning you’ve only got a couple of days to stomp around as the humongous Oni or scuttle around the map as your tiny Survivors.

For taking part in the My Little Oni event, you’ll have the chance to get your hands on a unique Player Badge. This is Dead by Daylight’s equivalent of a player profile picture that has been steadily introduced since the Chucky chapter.

That’s everything you need to know about the My Little Oni event in Dead by Daylight. Whether you’re laughing or screaming, be sure to play a few rounds so that you can grab the event reward.
